  • Received the Professor P. C. Ghosh Memorial Book Prize for securing among the students of Presidency College the highest marks in English in the M.A. examination of 1987 held in 1988. Award received from erstwhile Presidency College, now Presidency University, on January 20 1990.
  •  Ranked 2nd in M.A. English examination of 1987 held in 1988, University of Calcutta.
