Installation of Nature Aquarium
2022
Under the Green Initiative of Bethune College, a nature aquarium was set up
in the science library on 01.12.2022. The nature aquarium is a miniature
replica of a pond ecosystem where different types of flora and fauna
co-exist. The objective of this initiative was to raise environmental
awareness among students along with giving them hands on experience for
nurturing the same. The role of such an aquarium is also to generate
aesthetic appeal and psychological balance among all. The aquarium was
installed by Mr. Indrajit Das and his associates. The programme included an
inaugural speech by the Officer-In-Charge, IQAC Coordinator and Teachers
Council Secretary and was attended by teachers and students of the college.
Mr. Das provided an in-depth knowhow regarding the components and
maintenance protocol of the aquarium.
